[Question for the Author] I have so, so many questions I’d like to ask
Hello, Author! I’m one of the readers who’s really enjoying *Baekmangdeore*!
There were many parts that piqued my interest and made me curious while reading, so I’m really glad to have this opportunity to ask you questions directly.
Congratulations on reaching 600 episodes in Part 2 of the 1,400-episode series! I’d also like to offer my heartfelt congratulations and thanks on the release of Act 2 of Volume 1 of the collected edition!
Here is the question.
1. I want to know the characters' birthdays!
I’d like to know the birthdays of other characters besides those who appeared in the side story. I’m also curious about when Kale Henitus’s real birthday is, exactly which day in early spring Albert’s birthday falls on, and when “Average 10-Year-Old” and Mary decided to celebrate their birthdays.
2. I’d like to know the characters’ profiles!
In addition to basic information like height and appearance, I’d like to know more detailed background details, such as hobbies, favorite foods, and family relationships! I’d also like to learn about the new characters introduced in Part 2, as well as characters like Lee Soo-hyuk and Choi Jeong-soo who weren’t included in the 2019 profiles!
3. Is there a specific reason why Kale is growing his hair out?
I’m curious if it got this long simply because I was too lazy to do anything about it, or if it reflects Kale’s personal taste!
4. How much does Kale remember about his parents from his days as Kim Rok-su?
I was so young back then, and I hadn’t even developed the ability to remember things yet—so maybe I’ve even forgotten my parents’ faces by now...
5. Will Raon eventually be able to shapeshift into human form?
It’s still a chubby, plump baby version, but as it grows, it will eventually get bigger. Will it then live its life in human form through polymorph? Or will it use magic to shrink itself or maintain a youthful appearance?
6. How long do the Suin people live?
I’m curious whether only physically strong races, like the Bear Clan or the Whale Clan, have lifespans of hundreds of years, or if all merfolk generally have long lifespans—meaning that On and Hong, who are members of the Miao Clan, also live long lives.
7. What sparked Vicross’s interest in cooking, and what dish is he most confident in making?
You mentioned that you first learned how to work in a kitchen after coming to Henitus. So, did you develop an interest in it while learning the job, or were you already interested in it back when you were the young master of Molanga? I guess your specialty is steak, right?
8. I’m curious about what inspired you to create *Baekmangdeore*!
I’m curious about the theme and overall story of *First, Become a White Wolf*, as well as what inspired you to create the characters Kim Rok-su, Kale Henitus, and the White Star. I’m curious whether the idea came to you all at once—like a sudden burst of inspiration—or if you began by gathering ideas you’d been mulling over one by one for a long time and gradually refining them into a concrete story.
9. Do you have any unique work routines or superstitions?
Do you have any specific routines, like setting aside a specific time to write, or feeling like you absolutely have to eat a certain thing while working? Or are there certain environments or situations where you find it particularly easy—or, conversely, particularly difficult—to write?
10. What is the author’s favorite line of dialogue and episode?
There are so many memorable and great lines in the series—which ones do you like the most or put the most thought into? Also, which episode did you like the most or want to write the most, and how did you feel when you finally got to write it?
I have so many questions I want to ask, but unfortunately, many of them contain spoilers, so I can’t write them all down ㅠ
